Beverly HRC Logo Contest

The Beverly Human Rights Committee (HRC) is excited to announce their first ever Logo Design Contest!  As the committee develops its identity, we want a community-sourced logo that represents who we want to be as a city, and what we stand for. 

We've extended our deadline! We want your designs!!

The HRC's Mission:  The Beverly Human Rights Committee actively seeks to enhance equal justice, inclusivity, and human rights for all members of our community.

How to Enter:
The contest is open to those who live, work or study in Beverly and are at least 5 years old at the time of entry. Parents of contestants under age 17 must provide the following statement with their child’s entry submission email “I, ___________ (insert parents name), am submitting artwork to the Beverly Human Rights Committee logo contest on behalf of my child, who is under the age of 17, but over the age of 5.” 

   In order for an entry to be submitted and reviewed by our judges, all entries must be:
1.     Submitted directly to the official Committee email address: with the subject line “Logo Design Submission”
2.     Submitted in the original source file (vector format preferred) and
3.     Submitted as a high resolution .pdf with 300 dpi or higher.
Logo Requirements:
  • Quality: This logo may be featured on our website, our social media platforms and other mediums (stationery, pamphlets, t-shirts etc). As a result, while we want the logo to be eye-catching, it must still be legible.
  • ThemeLogo must promote the mission of Beverly’s Human Rights Committee, which “actively seeks to enhance equal justice, inclusivity, and human rights for all members of our community."  Design should be universal in theme but can contain elements relevant to the City of Beverly.
  • Color: There are no limitations and any colors may be used. However, logo must look good in color (if any) or black and white.
  • Integrity: Logos cannot contain copyrighted material. Logos must have been created and edited by the contestant(s). Logos may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published. Recognizable or identifiable images of individual persons should not be used. Must be easily reproducible and scalable for large and small formatting (vector format preferred).
Contest Timeline:
     Submission deadline: Friday, October 27th  by 5pm
       Five Finalists Selected:  Wednesday, November 1st
     Winner Selected and Announced: Thursday, November 2nd 
     Community Sign-Making and Logo Official Reveal Party:  tentatively scheduled for November 20th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm 

Selection of Winners & Official Rules:
Five finalists will be selected by the Logo Design Committee (consisting of 4 members) and will be presented to the Beverly Human Rights Committee for a vote to select the final design at a public meeting of the Committee.  Contestants agree that the City of Beverly and/or the Beverly Human Rights Committee may publish their logo and name(s) and may use both for advertising campaigns and/or marketing materials in the future. Without monetary or other compensation, contestants irrevocably assign all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights to the logo, to the City of Beverly.  Additionally, the Beverly Human Rights Committee may alter, modify or revise the logo as it sees necessary to achieve the goals of the committee  The Beverly Human Rights Committee reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.   Winner will be announced in via our website, social media sites, area newspapers and by direct contact to the winners' email account on Friday, October 6th.

Our Non-Discrimination Clause
All educational and non-academic programs, activities and opportunities with the Beverly Human Rights Committee are offered without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, homelessness, age and/or, disability, and any other class or characteristic protected by law.
